Rally driver Ken Block isn’t the only one who gets to play around with his Monster/Ford Racing rally car.

In time for the holidays, Mattel has formulated a special line of Hot Wheels toys based on Block’s Ford Fiesta race car.

“This is a dream come true. I never genuinely thought I’d have my own line of Hot Wheels cars,” Block said.

The line includes the established 1/64-scale die-cast car and two remote-controlled cars–the Nitro Speedsters Ford Fiesta, with a self-contained controller and racer unit, for $26, and the R/C Fiesta Stunt Car, with a scale speed of 0-to-80 mph in two seconds. This runs $45.

The Ken Block Hot Wheels lineup is available at Toys “R” Us, Walmart, Target, Kmart and Pep Boys.

TV News: Brand New Driving Wars Starts on Dave

We here at EF lo TV News: Brand New Driving Wars Starts On Daveve a bit of car racing, and starting on Wednesday 19th of October a brand spanking new series will be starting on Dave titled Driving Wars.

Driving Wars will be hosted by Colin Murray (Match of the Day 2, BBC Radio 5 Live Sport, Colin and Edith Show)  and allows Britain’s self proclaimed driving elite to take percentage in TV’s most dangerous motoring challenges.Boy racers versus the Police, Go Kart Supremos versus fire truck drivers, Dave pits two teams of driving experts head to head. The rivals control real cars in real challenges, but rather of climbing aboard said stunt car, they are various hundred metres away, in a converted Jaguar XJ6 that’s controlling the action.The steering system, accelerator and brakes of the Jaguar are hooked up to sensors that relay each move made by the contestants to a real car out on the track, thru radio control.  That car is fitted with high tech receivers that relay each turn of the wheel or foot on the pedal in the Jaguar to the radio control car by means of compressed air operated robotics.Using TV mini HD cameras inside the cars, the signal is transmitted by way of high speed video link to the teams in the base station as they race versus the clock for automotive bragging rights.The teams have to try and keep out of the way of being squashed on the road from Hell by a 12 tonne truck – reasonably unpleasant, jump a 100ft line of cars at 60-70mph, keep away from a head on smash with a gargantuan tanker lorry and escape from a giant industrial maze before their car is hit by missiles that will trigger a petrol bomb concealed in the boot – intense.This eight portion series will begin this Wednesday, 19th of October totally on Dave.
