Good things come in little packages, and for me this is one of the best packages I’ve created. Before having a car the nearest thing I got to drifting was playing with remote control drift cars. The basi time I started looking on the market for one, I just wanted something little and cheap. A friend of mine who was into this sparetime activity showed me his Yokomo drift car which blew me away, that being said he had expended over $500 on it. My primary response was “I’m not spending over $50 man.” Fast forward 3 months and at least $500 later, this is what I have. The chassis I had chosen to buy was a Tamiya TT-01 Drift, plainly because it was smack bang in my budget. My initial upgrade was an alloy drive shaft to replace the stock plastic one. My friend likewise donated me a cheap motor… …that lasted only a short while before failing. The next thing to throw cash at was a new motor; an EZRUN brushless motor. Next in line was the shell that will lie upon the chassis. My favored body shape is the Nissan Onevia so it wasn’t hard to pick a shell. I grabbed a D-MAX Onevia off eBay and waited a few weeks for it to arrive. While waiting for the shell to land at my door step. I purchased a lot of paint and decisive that I wanted to run the Burst livery. Handmade and cut flame decals were created. Next was my favored step; the paint. I did 4 coats of Translucent Purple because I in truth wanting a bright finish. Purple done and I nailed the colour. Then came the Translucent Pink, if I sprayed one more coat in the photo above it would of been perfect. But I got a little excessively affected emotionally and sprayed with regards to four coats which made the final finish a maroonish colour. I’m still spewing with regards to it. See what I mean? A tad too dark. I was so stoked on how the purple turned out. I threw the shell on the body nevertheless at that time it was looking very weird and naked without the stickers. On with the stickers! During this time I also devised a ‘Hot Road’ vent on the front. The wheels are Grams 57D which I painted in fluro yellow and pink. Fitment was incisively what I was after. I threw on a 326 Power wing and it looked so very at home on the shell. Since the build I have expended a lot of time playing with it, breaking it then fixing it. Fast forward 4 months and this is how it sits. Looking very battered up and dirty, just how I like it. The ‘Hot Road’ vent has been lost someplace which sucks. That’s likewise the precise ride height; I did not play around with the height in any way for the photos. I have lost the 326 Wing as well, finelooking bummed regarding that. The car is suffering from a chewed spur gear again; this is the 3rd time. I haven’t been playing with it for the last month or so, but I gave it a quick run yesterday and it brought back so a lot of memories. Lastly here’s a little vid explaining why it looks so messed up.
