3 RTA officials held for forging papers

HYDERABAD: Three officials of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA),? Kurnool,? were nabbed by the city police on Monday for alleviating three others in preparing forged documents to trade used cars fraudulently. Two more RTA officials were also involved in the fraud and they are yet to be arrested.

The three officials were alleviating one B Suresh Babu, a businessman from Kurnool,? in preparing the forged documents.

According to police, Suresh and Mohd Nayeem, applied car dealers and hatched a plan to remove the hypothecation agreement on RCs and trade the vehicles. With the aid of an RTA agent, B Murali, the duo roped in five other RTA officials from Kurnool to help them in preparing the forged documents. Murali was also arrested.

The officials include junior assistant Shaik Abdul Saheb, typist G Muniratnam and senior assistant Y Venkata Ramana Murthy and two other administrative officers, Abdul Rawoof and S Lakshminarayana.

Suresh contacted Syed Munna of Kurnool, who owns an Indica Vista car with hypothecation RC and got his documents. With the support of RTA officials, Suresh got the hypothecation got rid of and sold the car? for `3.95 lakh. Suresh, Nayeem, Murali and three RTA officials were nabbed by the police.
